Losing Someone You Love Is Devastating—Being Overwhelmed by Funeral Planning Shouldn’t Be.
What if we told you that How to Plan a Funeral was born out of love, resilience, and the heartbreaking reality of loss?
One of our founders knows this journey all too well. In the span of just 13 months, she lost her father and brother, and in between, four other close family members. Struggling through her grief, she turned to the templates she had created to navigate planning each service—a lifeline that helped her bring beauty, dignity, and meaning to those final farewells.
It was then she realized: These tools could help others, too.
Already skilled in event planning and writing services, she brought her heart, expertise, and experience together to create a resource designed for people just like you—grieving, overwhelmed, and searching for a way to honor someone they deeply love.
Born From Grief, Built on Love
More than a decade ago, we received a heart-wrenching call from a friend asking for help planning her son’s funeral. He had just graduated from high school but succumbed to the complications from an accident that happened when he was a toddler. We had never planned a funeral before, but we said “yes” out of love.
What started as a gesture of kindness turned into a calling. Since that day, we’ve been honored to help families and loved ones navigate this difficult journey, providing everything from beautifully written obituaries to thoughtfully designed memorial programs and full-service planning.
